C.A. Electronics (CAE) provides specialised rework, repair and manufacturing facilities to the electronics industry. These services are available to all users and handlers of printed circuit boards from PC manufacturers through Telecommunications to Automotive. Based in Bathgate, CAE is situated in the heart of Scotland's Silicon Glen and is easily accessed from both Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports. CAE employs over fifty skilled operators trained in all rework and repair techniques, and continually strives to improve the abilities of its new employees to ensure that the skill level with CAE is maintained.
CAE was set up by the current Managing Director, Len Cameron in 1986. Having worked in the electronics industry for many years he had been aware that a specialised rework service was becoming more of a necessity, as valuable labour resources could no longer be spared to repair product, in a fast turnaround environment Working on the premise that the substrate was the most important part of a printed circuit assembly, his first port of call was the local raw board manufacturer. Following this, the company soon began to rework and repair populated assemblies for OEMs and sub-contract manufacturers as well as reworking bare boards. CAE has subsequently built up a large customer base including most of the major OEMs situated in the UK and maintains close working relationships with several major customers, assisting with the implementation of new technology and supplying support whenever required.
Quality is CAE's primary concern. All CAE staff must pass a thorough examination before they are allowed to come into contact with customers' products. Every item that CAE handles is fully inspected and tested to ensure that the highest quality standards are maintained. All production functions are monitored throughout the process and full documentation is produced for every delivery made. This information identifies individual operators to each step in the process. CAE is an ISO9002 accredited company. All new staff that CAE train must obtain a Scottish
Vocational Qualification Level II in electronics as a minimum before they
are allowed to perform production functions and will be monitored closely
in their actions to assess their progress. Only the top five percent of
operators who undergo CAE's training program will be considered for employment. Our world is precise,
concise and above all -
